Beauty and the Beak: How Science, Technology, and a 3D-Printed Beak Rescued a Bald Eagle is the true, heart lifting story of Beauty, the injured bald eagle whose story made world news. Beauty and the Beak is being published in celebration of the 10th anniversary of bald eagles no longer being designated as an endangered or threatened species. The book is a Junior Library Guild selection and a CALIFORNIA READS recommended title of the California Teachers Association.

Deborah Lee Rose, author of Beauty and the Beak, is an internationally published, award winning author of 15 children’s books (www.deborahleerose.com). She lives in Walnut Creek. Deborah coauthored the book with Idaho raptor biologist Jane Veltkamp, who led the team that engineered Beauty’s 3D-printed, prosthetic beak.
