Dear Lafayette Library Supporter,
November promises to be a busy month for activities at the Lafayette Library. Lamorinda Reads! culminates in a visit from Funny in Farsi author Firoozeh Dumas on November 12th, and you can get yourself in the mood with a lesson in Persian dance (see the highlighted event below)!
On the 13th not one, but TWO books are featured on Sweet Thursday at the library. Join us for an evening that celebrates the entering of new stages of life. Whether you're about to turn 40 or your child is going off to college, there are emotions and experiences involved in both that will make you laugh and maybe cry.
Mid-month returning Peace Corps volunteers will share stories of life as a teacher, health worker, business advisor, environmental educator or community development worker in Africa at the Lafayette Library.
As Winter approaches activity at the new Lafayette Library and Learning Center is focusing on getting the exterior ready for winter rains. Construction continues, however, so be sure to check the progress out on the LLLCF website. |
So You Think You Can Persian Dance?
This Lamorinda Reads! special event on November 6th will provide basic instruction to Persian dancing with lessons provided by the staff of the Shahrzad Dance Academy. Ages 10 through adults. |

Offshore Oil: Drilling Ourselves Into The Next Generation or An Environmental Catastrophe?
